  19. First of all, if you don't know what GRAAL is, then this is
  20. not for you - check out game/role/Graal2a.readme first!

  24. This is a combination of a GRAAL-driven demo and a diskmag, 
  25. showing just how flexible GRAAL 2 is, and demonstrating
  26. subjects not covered by the normal demo adventure in the
  27. "Graal2x" archives. If you thought the GRAAL 2 adventure
  28. demo was OK, just wait 'til you see what else GRAAL 2 can
  29. do if you put your mind to it!

  32. The archive should be unpacked to a hard disk drawer.
  33. Make sure the FONTS: sub-drawer contents are copied
  34. properly. Then click the GRAAL_2 icon, and away you go!
  35.

  37. This archive includes slightly updated GRAAL_2 driver
  38. and editor programs, containing some new features that
  39. I considered essential to put in before the proper
  40. GRAAL 2.0 release. They also contain some nice bug fixes, 
  41. so everyone should replace their current "GRAAL_2 beta"
  42. driver and editor with these "beta 2" versions.

  44. Now I will not add any more features until the GRAAL 2.1
  45. release (I think ;)

  47. The new features:
  48.  
  49. * It is now possible to totally customise save/load as well
  50.   as quit routines.
  51.  
  52. * It is now possible to use dialogues for player "multiple
  53.   choice" input, not necessarily related to an on-screen
  54.   dialogue between characters. Also makes it possible to
  55.   conduct dialogues without the main character being
  56.   shown on screen.
  57.  
  58. * If you run GRAAL from a write-protected medium, it always
  59.   asks for a saved games diskette when loading and saving
  60.   games. This means GRAAL games can now be put on CD-ROM
  61.   with fully functional save/load routines.
  62.  
  63. * The editor can edit PATH:s, and also keep track of .room, 
  64.   and .scene script numbers and contents in a much neater
  65.   way.

  68. The GRAAL Herald is as free as freeware gets, but the
  69. "Olaf Longhair" character is copyright (c) Per Thulin.
  70.  
  71. The GRAAL Graphic Adventure Authoring Language is shareware.
